Flower Garden Photoshoots

You’ve nurtured something beautiful. Let’s celebrate it! Flower garden photoshoots preserve your garden’s magic in every detail. Whether you want images to lift your spirits in mid-winter, to honor a loved one’s labor, or to share your blooms through art and print, Flowerwise Garden Studio captures it all.

10 Reasons to Hire a Floral Photographer

We capture photos of our important occasions, celebrations, and milestones because they are both precious and fleeting. In the same way, your garden represents years of care, creativity, and joy—yet its beauty is seasonal and ever-changing. A flower garden photoshoot preserves that work of heart, turning short-lived blooms into lasting art, memories, and gifts.

My Flower Photography Style

I was an artist and designer decades before I became a floral photographer. Macro photography, and creative use of focus to create images that are painterly, bursting with intriguing detail and surprising perspectives is my hallmark. I revel in color and composition, and love nothing more than when the photo reveals secrets amidst the pollen and petals. There is more in my Gallery.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am located in Troy, New York. Generally speaking, I stay within a 30 mile radius for flower garden shoots. However, I’m happy to consider and negotiate for further travel.

Flexibility is key, for both of us! Early morning or even better, late afternoon and early evening light, is ideal. We will start with which season you would like photography taken – but no need to choose just one, I do offer 3 season packages. The decision about an early or later day shoot may depend on your garden location relative to the sun, which we will discuss. We will pick the time of year and then reserve a shoot date and a rain date for your garden. Your deposit will be returned if the weather doesn’t cooperate and we can’t reschedule.

I will also offer “pop-up” garden shoots to happen when the weather and conditions are spectacular. Be sure to sign up for my emails to get those opportunities.

In our first conversation, I will ask a series of questions to learn what you would like to accomplish with the shoot, and what the outcome should be. For example, I will ask if you want artistic photography including macro and abstract art of your flowers, or wide angle landscape photos, or creative takes on individual flowers. Or all of that! You can share your camera snaps to give me an idea of the scope of what you have. We will discuss the final product – do you want the files uploaded for you to use? A calendar of 12 months of blooms? A book to daydream over in winter? A digital frame for a loved one?

The flower photos I take for you belong to you. I will not watermark them (put a name or credit on them) unless you want me to. I do that with much of my own photography since digital image theft is so common. However, my name as photographer will be in the data embedded (invisibly) in each photo. And I will always ask for a release of rights to use photography I’ve taken of your flower garden in my other endeavors like this website or on products I sell in the future.

This will depend on a number of factors, including your goals, the final deliverables and the size and scope of your flower gardens. We will always discuss this in advance.
